To create the new version of the RS 500 we convened a poll of more than 250 artists, musicians, and producers - from Angelique Kidjo to Zedd, Sam Smith to Megan Thee Stallion, M. So we’ve decided to give the list a total reboot. But a lot has changed since 2004 back then the iPod was relatively new, and Billie Eilish was three years old. It’s one of the most widely read stories in our history, viewed hundreds of millions of times on this site. In 2004, Rolling Stone published its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The same pre-condition applies to the card draw of Elven Minstrel and the devastating Battlecry of Vilespine Slayer. SI:7 Agent requires another card to be played first on the same turn if you want to achieve that bonus Battlecry damage. You've a lot of low cost cards in this deck that can be used to empower this minion. Edwin VanCleef gains +2 / + 2 of stats for each card you played earlier on the same turn. He'll also pop a card from you deck pile into your hand when he dies. All spells gain an extra point of strength as long as Bloodmage Thalnos is out on the board. The spell is also often played before Sprint. This comfortably allows you to play Augmented Elekk, Academic Espionage and Fal'dorei Strider on the same late-game turn. The next spell you cast after playing Preparation will cost three Mana less. Here's a closer look at some of the synergies that exist in this list: Taking a bit of time to study all the combos contained in Shuffle Rogue will definitely give you a headstart with this new archetype. We'll update this section with Mulligan advice once we've played this a little more in the Boomsday Project meta. For now, have a look through all the combos we've detailed at the bottom of the page for further insight. That's a very basic overview of playing the deck, then, but we'll update this section with match-up advice if Shuffle Rogue proves popular in the long run. By blending these cards together, it's possible to create a massive deck, one which builds a board of spiders as you draw through it using cards like Sprint. It's the interactions between Augmented Elekk, Academic Espionage, Fal'dorei Strider and Preparation that really make this deck shine though. The general idea with this deck is to use cards like Backstab, Fire Fly, Loot Hoarder and SI:7 Agent to control the board, and perhaps even build up a beefy Edwin VanCleef if circumstances work out in that direction. If the deck proves popular we'll update all sections, and go into greater detail about how to pilot Shuffle Rogue. In the first edition of this guide we're keeping things pretty simple, with a refined deck list, an overview of the strategy involved, and a look at all the combos contained in the list. Combine this with Academic Espionage and Fal'dorei Strider, and it's possible to build a massive deck with the potential to wreck the opponent in pretty short order. It’s a level that really lit up my face with a smile the first time I saw it.Captain Toad stars in his own puzzling quest on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! You have the band room, a plaza, a few yellow cabs, and can even drop down into the city sewers. The stand out really is the New Donk City level, which magically manages to distill the kingdom from Odyssey. They’re a relatively short and sweet addition, with two regular levels, a brief mine cart ride and boss battle, covering the breadth of what the main game. These levels have made the jump to 3DS as well, and can either be unlocked through play or from tapping a Super Mario Wedding amiibo on the NFC sensor. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze had Funky Kong, and for Captain Toad, Nintendo have made an additional four levels inspired by Super Mario Odyssey. To spice up their Wii U ports, Nintendo have tried to find places where they can add content to each game. Though it’s off by default, you can turn on the motion sensor for aiming your turnip throwing, but this doesn’t have the same precision as Wii U or Switch and is a bit excessive during regular levels. While the “New” side of the 3DS family have the C-stick nubbins, they don’t offer anywhere near the kinds of dexterity that is really needed for more than getting a simple passing grade in these levels. Where the 3DS seriously falls down is with the mine cart levels, which require a degree of dexterity to aim and shoot at blocks and enemies. It doesn’t take long before you need to be tapping on and interacting with elements in the game world, whether that’s stunning enemies, shifting blocks and platforms or turning wheels that reorient parts of the level. This is impressively true to the original Wii U game.ĭoubling up the game on the lower screen initially feels like an odd choice, and I sometimes found myself looking at it instead of the slightly larger top screen on a number of occasions, but it does serve an important purpose in keeping the Wii U gameplay intact. Of course there’s compromises beyond just the resolution, which goes hand in hand with a lack of anti-aliasing, and you can see the level of detail on some parts of the scenery if you look for it, but instances where it’s actually noticeable are few and far between, and it’s never intrusive. Performance never seems to drop, even during the most ambitious levels, though I would say that the 3D effect adds relatively little to the experience on this occasion. The 3DS supports its signature autostereoscopic 3D mode, rendering the game twice at ever-so-slightly different camera angles when it’s activated, but it also duplicates the game for the lower screen – I’d suspect this isn’t rendering the game a third time, but more simplistically doubling up. The actual game resolution has dropped all the way down to the 3DS’ resolution of 400×240, roughly 1/10th that of the Switch screen and less than 1/20th of the game running at 1080p, but that’s not the whole picture. What’s most impressive is how well it runs. Not only that, you can access our website through where you can browse many varieties of beds, mattresses and headboards. *Before I teach this lesson, my kiddos play on Tessellation Town to understand the concept of tessellations and get some great ideas. Step 4: Color the patterns either based upon what they look like or in any design that your creative juices enjoy. It can be translated, rotated, or reflected depending upon what the kiddo wants and the type of pattern that was developed. Step 3: Trace the tessellation pattern repeatedly on a piece of paper. Image Source: OpenGL Wiki The abstract patch space spans its dimensions within the range 0, 1.Each intermediate point is represented by a fractional coordinate (u, v) that corresponds to its location within the patch. That whole perfectly thing can be tricky but there is some room for improvising. Once the inner rings have been generated, the outer ring was its final intermediate points generated based on each outer tessellation level. Follow along the steps and make your own creation. Cut another shape from one side and slide it perfectly to the other side where you should tape it in place. In this tutorial we show you how you make a Tessellation using an easy technique. Step 2: Cut a shape out of the bottom and slide it perfectly to the top where you should tape it in place. I cut up file folders so that the square has some gumption. Step 1: Cut out a perfect square for each kid. That is, a tessellation which has no translation symmetry. A non-periodic tessellation is a tessellation which is not periodic. Periodic tessellations form patterns with symmetry given by one of the seventeen wallpaper groups. I love incorporating literature any way I can. They have translation symmetry, and so they look the same at different points in the plane. □ Below is a step-by-step on how to make tessellations with kids.īefore you begin, there are great Tessellations picture books available to engage your students. This package includes the following six topics summaries within Unit 11: Translations Reflections Rotations Dilations Symmetry Tesselations Includes 12 files: 6 full page summary sheets (8.5' x 11') 6 two-per-page summary sheets for easy printing (two 8.5' x 5. These Tessellation Worksheets are great as an introductory task. For simple translation tessellations, your starting polygon should have opposite sides that are parallel and congruent. Students are given the first shape of their tessellation pattern on the first page, then progressing to design and create a tessellation pattern which is unique to them. I remember making one in 5th grade and if I remember it, you know it had to be good. These fantastic Tessellation Worksheets are great for helping your Math class practice Tessellation skills and create tessellated patterns of their own. To teach these concepts, I have my kiddos make Tessellations. Part of teaching geometry includes understanding the concepts of translations, rotations, and reflections or in non-geometry student terms slides, turns, and flips. The kids appreciate the change after focusing heavily on multiplication and division and it allows for a great deal of hands-on learning. We’re not going to change any of these settings right now, but we’ll return to them later when we start importing our media files. If you only have one or two disks (your computer and an external hard drive), you can ignore this, but for the inquisitive, Adobe’s recommended disk setup is as follows.Īfter you’ve scratched the disks, you can look at the Ingest Settings. IF YOU ARE USING A COMPUTER WITH THREE OR MORE HARD DRIVES, you can increase performance by assigning “video previews” and “audio previews” to the third disk. Unless you have numerous hard drives, we recommend setting it to the same location. The Scratch Disk will be placed to the same folder as the destination for your new project by default. The scratch disk is the spot on your computer where Premiere Pro CC 2019 will save media and other project data. The project file will include references to the various media assets you’ll be using to create your movie, as well as the sequences in which you’ll arrange your video clips, add audio tracks, transitions, titles, and so on.Īt the top of the New Project dialog box, select the Scratch Disks tab. Individual mouthpiece choices and embouchures resulting in various sounding lengths will result in different degrees of that octave stretching so one person ends up not experiencing the issue and the next one has to resort to all kinds of alternate fingerings. This is well known on Selmer Mark 6s, and since most modern saxophones are copies of that design it carries over to a lot of them. Any number of older saxophones also have "C# helper" levers that partially close the C# tone hole cup when the octave key's depressed.įor the Selmer Mark 6 (and it might have been introduced before that) the decision was made to lower the pitch of the upper C#, which resulted in the lower C# being flat. Older horns, the design choice was to make the lower C# in tune and the upper one would be sharp - it's a lot easier to lip notes down than up. It would open up many new possibilities and perhaps solve a long-standing problem of what triggers supernovae explosions.Click to expand.Well, the real thing is that on saxophone the C# octave is too big (the upper one's more than exactly 2X the frequency of the lower one). "Nevertheless, this is provocative and interesting. "This is such a break from 40 years of traditional thinking that one should be cautious trumpeting it," he said. "The sound waves reinforce the shock wave (created by the collapsed star) until it finally explodes aspherically."īurrows said that others who study supernova explosions in computer experiments will be skeptical of his team's results - and should be. "Sound also generates pressure, which pushes the exciting streams of infalling matter to the opposite side of the core, further driving the core oscillations in a runaway process," Burrows said. Typical sound frequencies are about 200 to 400 hertz, in the audible range bracketing middle C. Within hundreds of milliseconds, the inner core vibrations become so intense that they actually generate sound waves. Burrows has posted the movies on his Website at zenith.as./~burrows/brileyĬollapsing material falls lopsidedly onto the inner core and soon excites oscillations at specific frequencies in the simulations. The team got a clear picture of what likely happens by making movies from their simulations. Their research is funded by the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics. They are publishing the research in the Astrophysical Journal. The team has used their models to make billions of calculations on computer clusters in the UA astronomy department, at Berkeley's supercomputer center and elsewhere, checking their analysis for the past year. He added, "We were quite sure when we started seeing this phenomenon that we were seeing sound waves, but it was so unexpected that we kept rechecking and retesting our results." In these computer runs, it's these sound waves that actually cause the star to explode, not the neutrinos." And after 600, 700 or 800 milliseconds, this oscillation becomes so vigorous that it sends out sound waves. They show that after about 500 milliseconds, the inner core begins to vibrate wildly. "And they allow us to follow the development to explosion for a longer time than other models do. "Our simulations show that the inner core starts to execute pulsations," Burrows said. Burrows team's simulations also characterize the natural motion of a supernova core, something that other detailed models do not. His team's detailed models involve a million steps, or about five times as many as typical models that calculate only the first few hundred milliseconds of supernovae events. So theorists have focused their work on what might revive the shock wave into becoming a supernova explosion.Īccording to Burrow's new results, part of the problem is that other computer models don't run long enough. However, in all the best recent simulations, the shock wave stalls. When the white dwarf reaches a critical mass (about 1.5 times the mass of the sun), it collapses and creates a spherical shock wave, all within less than half a second before the star would explode as a supernova. (Graphic: Courtesy of Adam Burrows, UA)Ī supernova is a massive star that has burned for 10 million to 20 million years and developed a hot, dense 'white dwarf' star about the size of Earth at its core. The colors reflect the entropies on the shells, where entropy is a measure of heat content. The scale is ~2000 kilometers on a side and the time is ~800 milliseconds after the bounce at nuclear densities of the collapsed core. The remnant neutron star is the green "dot" in the center and the outer shells are just interior to the blast wave that has been launched. Because it’s a light reflecting concealer and I expected it to be a bit like the YSL Touche Eclat, I expected it to be very sheer, so when I saw how well it covered up my dark circles, I was actually impressed. When it comes to coverage I would say it’s light to medium, but definitely leaning towards the medium side. It’s pretty different compared to the concealers I’m used to using because this one is not as heavy and not as thick and I really like that about it. The first time I used it I wasn’t really sure what to expect and actually the first thing I noticed was that it had such a nice texture. According to Catrice the concealer is lightweight, creamy and soft, and therefore perfect for the delicate under eye area. But is it actually true? Let’s start off with the texture part. I think it’s such a shame that Catrice doesn’t create super light or super dark shades, because super pale girls, as well as darker girls, can’t use this concealer because of that and I really think that’s a shame.Īccording to Catrice this Re-Touch Light Reflecting Concealer is very creamy and lightweight and with its medium coverage perfect and light reflecting pigments perfect for brightening the under eye area and covering up dark circles as well as small imperfections. If you’re really pale like I am you’re not going to find a light enough colour to really lighten up and highlight the under eye area, but there is one shade available that will at least match your actual skin tone. The concealer comes in three shades, which are all pretty light, but not super light. Using the brush thingy you can apply it to the areas you want to and then, using your fingers or a brush, you can blend it. To get the product out of the tube you have to twist the bottom part and the product will appear inside the little brush thing on top. It’s shiny and, in my opinion, really pretty. The concealer comes in a long and thin silver packaging. If you’re interested in reading more about it, keep on reading! Even though I usually prefer concealers with a lot more coverage, I got really excited to try it and I ended up buying it. A while ago I noticed that Catrice had a concealer in their collection which was pretty similar to it, at least the looks of it are pretty similar. One of the world’s most famous ‘concealers’ and one of the most expensive concealers. I think we all know the famous YSL Touche Eclat concealer. Regarding the portrayal of Bo in this film, story artist Carrie Hobson explained to GameSpot that the production staff decided to redefine the character for the fourth installment, working to nail down specific personality traits and ultimately positioning her as "a character who decided she didn't just want to sit on a shelf waiting for life to happen. However, Bo was given a major role in Toy Story 4. John Lasseter's wife Nancy considered Jessie as a great addition to the cast in Toy Story 2, because she was perceived as a stronger character, and she had more substance than Bo. Character design A concept sketching Bo Peep's transformation from her first look to her appearance in Toy Story 4.īo Peep was a secondary character in the first two films of the franchise, missing the main action in both of them. Her leading role in Toy Story 4 contributed to the character making live meet-and-greet appearances in Disney theme Parks after the film's release. Bo's reception in the fourth film received praise regarding her leading role, but criticism drawn towards her new redesign, concept, and feminist personality. The character received a generally positive reception in the first two films of the franchise, particularly towards the side plots involving her and Woody. She was later re-conceived by the development team behind Toy Story 4. After being given away prior to the events of Toy Story 3, Bo returns in Toy Story 4.īo Peep was created by John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Joe Ranft, and Pete Docter for the original 1995 feature film, being based on the nursery rhyme " Little Bo-Peep". She appears in the first two films as a supporting character, portrayed as a love interest to the protagonist, Woody. The character is primarily voiced by Annie Potts. Bo Peep is a fictional character appearing in the Disney– Pixar Toy Story franchise. |
